​Very Important News About 21st CCLC!

President Trump has just unveiled his budget priorities—and his plan singles out afterschool funding for elimination. Please take two minutes right now to tell your representatives in Congress to stand up for America’s children, families, and afterschool options.

​

Congress is getting ready to determine whether local afterschool and summer learning programs remain open, reduce their services or close their doors. If the 21st Century Community Learning Centers initiative is eliminated, many programs will not survive. More than a million children will be affected, leaving parents without reliable afterschool choices.

​

The battle has just begun. With your help, it’s still possible to persuade Congress to protect afterschool choices. Take action now.

                       that must be made to accommodate the plans for staff members, scholars, and families.

                       Additionally, Spring Break Academy (SBA) will run two full days: Wednesday, April 12,                              2017 and Thursday, April 13, 2017.  The revised SBA Letters will go out on Monday, April                          3, 2017 to all families with scholars in grades 3-8.

                       There will be regular 21st CCLC programming on Saturday, April 8, 2017, Monday, April                            10, 2017 and Tuesday, April 11, 2017.

 

  • 03/17/17 - All 21st CCLC programming for Saturday, March 18, 2017 has been cancelled.

 

  • 03/12/17 - Family University II has been rescheduled for Saturday, March 25, 2017.

  • 02/17/17 -​ There will be no afterschool programming at our elementary schools on Wednesday,                            February 22, 2017 due to the Parent-Teacher conferences.

                       Our 21st CCLC programming at PMS will follow the regular schedule.

 

  • 02/17/17 - Due the President's Day Holiday, there will be no 21st CCLC programming at any of our                        sites on Saturday, February 18, 2017 or Monday, February 20, 2017.

 

  • 02/15/17 - As a result of our rescheduled Parent-Teacher conferences, there will be no 21st CCLC                          afterschool programming at any of our sites on Thursday, February 16, 2017.There will                        also be no afterschool programming at our elementary schools on Wednesday, February                      22, 2017.

 

  • 02/10/17 - Congratulations to Mr. Hoover and his 5th Grade Krieger 21st CCLC Math Scholars for their                  awesome presentation at Wednesday night's Board of Education meeting!

  • 02/07/17 - The Poughkeepsie City School District will operate on a 2-hour delay today, Tuesday,                          February 7, 2017 due to impending inclement weather conditions. There will be no morning                  session of pre-kindergarten at the Early Learning Center.

 

                       All parent-teacher conferences scheduled for elementary schools (Clinton, Krieger, Morse,                          and Warring) will be canceled and rescheduled to Monday, February 13, 2017. All                                      elementary schools will operate on a two-hour delay and have a full-day, including after-                            school programs. 

 

                       There will be no 21st CCLC programming at our four elementary schools on Thursday,                                February 9th due to the Parent-Teacher conferences. Programming will take place on                                Thursday as scheduled at Poughkeepsie Middle "Model" School.

 

  • 02/03/17 - There will be no 21st CCLC programming at our four elementary schools on

                       Tuesday, February 7th and Thursday, February 9th due to the Parent-Teacher conferences.

                       Programming will take place on those two days as scheduled at Poughkeepsie Middle                                "Model" School.

 

  • 01/25/17 - The Poughkeepsie City School District will have an early dismissal today, Tuesday, January                  31, 2017, due to the forecast of impending inclement weather. All after-school activities                      will be canceled. The Poughkeepsie High School will be dismissed at 11:30 AM and all                          elementary schools (Clinton, Krieger, Morse, and Warring), the Poughkeepsie Middle                            “Model” School and PACE will be dismissed at 12:00 PM. There will be no afternoon

 Pre-kindergarten classes for students at the Early Learning Center at Smith.

 

  • 01/25/17 - The Poughkeepsie City School District is on a two hour delay. All 21st CCLC after school                        programming will follow the regular schedule.

  • 01/23/17 - All 21st CCLC programming will dismiss at 4:30 p.m. today due to the impending                                storm. Parents/guardians are encouraged to pick up their scholars early if possible.

 

  • 01/17/17 - Three of our PCSD administrators will be presenting at the 21st CCLC Rest of State                              After School Experience Symposium this week in Albany, New York. Mr. Jack Mager,

                       Mrs. Tracy Farrell, and Mrs. Natasha Cherry will facilitate a workshop about Poughkeepsie's                        Family University. The event will be held at the New York State Museum on Thursday,                                January 19th and Friday, January 20th. (Story and photo link)

  • 12/21/16 - The R.E.A.L. Skills Winter Festival will be held on Thursday, December 22nd at the Family                    Partnership from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. for all children that participate in the program.                      There will be no R.E.A.L. Skills programming at Clinton ES on that day.

  • 12/18/16 - LATE DECEMBER NEWS:

                       * Our 21st CCLC programming will follow the regular schedule this week through Thursday,                           December 22nd.

​

                       * Danielle DiMare from Impact Development and Assessment will visit our program sites on                           Tuesday. She will also co-host our Advisory Council meeting at 5:15 p.m. in the BOE                                 Conference Room at the Jane Bolin Administration Building.

​

                       * There will be no programming during the Winter Break beginning Saturday, December                               24th. All activities will resume on Tuesday, January 3rd.

                       * PMS C.O.L.O.R.S. – Room 111 from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

                       * Morse/Krieger Karate in PMS Cafeteria from 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.

                       * Morse/Krieger Fitness in PMS Gym from 10:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
